Mike Posner – Please Don’t Go (Music Video)

Mike Posner is really starting to make a lot of waves in the UK and quite rightly too. I first come across this young american star when he launched his career with the feel good song “Cooler than Me” which performed very impressively stateside , it actually landed him a top ten hit in Oz, Canada and his native US. It seems that success is being replicated in the UK. The single is currently number 3 on the iTunes charts for this week 5 weeks ahead of its official release so it seems Mr Posner could be set for a big start to his UK chart career. Another top ten position for a song he originally recorded in his college dorm….? That’s impressive.

The thing that strikes me about Mike Posner is that all it seems so natural, the catchiness of his songs have really shone. His ability to create his signature sound, mixing electropop, synth-tinged hip-hop and dance is particularly impressive and its evident throughout his album.

Not content with the success of his first single Mike has begun the promo for his second single “Please Don’t Go”. IMO this is the best song from his album, it’s definitely my favourite so I was glad to see it was chosen as the next single. The video sees Mike getting a bit nostalgic.  The 22-year-old singer walks down the streets of Los Angeles during a sunny day, revisiting places in the city where he and his girlfriend used to spend time together.

You can watch the video below : I particularly like the setting for the video, the lighting is a really cool feature IMO!

Seeing as we’re still sort of playing catchup here in the UK I’ve included the video to his current single impressing “Cooler than Me””

Enjoy!

Expect to hear a lot of things about this 22 year old from Detroit in the next few years. He’s on a quest to be the next big thing and he’s well on his way!
