R&B’s hottest new male star Jason Derulo has premiered the cinematic new video for single What If. What If is the fourth single to be taken from his debut album.
After three up-tempo song releases from his debut album, Derulo has this time slowed things down a bit with a smooth ballad which is a much needed change. The music video is engaging enough but the whole ‘Butterfly Effect’ theme to save the girl while Jason sacrifices their first time meeting her in order to save her from being car-bashed has been done way too many times. Still, I guess it still beats a lot of videos out there right now right? The video does however tug away at your heartstrings succesfully!!!
The US R&B scene looks quite promising at the moment with Derulo leading the forefront of R&B stars alongside Trey Songz and the possibly resurgence of Chris Brown!!!
Welcome back Chris Brown.
After everything he has done , no one has ever denied that the talent Chris Brown possesses is just phenomenal.I admire his talent which is why it was sad to see him making mistakes in the last year , namely the whole Rihanna issue but i always wished he would get the chance to come back and show off his talent and also perform a tribute to his idol Michael Jackson , he’s the only person capable of pulling of anything close to Michael Jackson esque moves and he displayed this during his tribute.
Even if you dont like Chris Brown , you must have felt a bit for him during the end of this tribute , it was hard not too , the whole performance filled me with goosebumps seriously , it was amazing!!
The 2010 BET Awards were held at the the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night with Kanye West singing his brand new single Power when opening the gig.
But it was the emotional performance of Chris Brown that stole the moment, when he sobbed while he performed a tribute to the late King of Pop Micheal Jackson. Belting Man In The Mirror, after being introduced by the late MJ’s brother Jermaine Jackson, he kicked off the tribute with The Way You Make Me Feel. Afterwards, the Run It! hitmaker performed Billie Jean with an impressive routine of Jacko-style dance moves.
The singer who is nominated for Best Male R&B Artist did MJ’s every signature move, popping, spinning and moonwalking, but crashed into a sob with his way wiped tears from his eyes and failed to sing the words live on stage. He showed every ounce of emotion he possibly could.
Dressed in black trousers and a white T-shirt, the 21-year-old singer wept uncontrollably and relied on the audience to help him with the lyrics.
One can only wonder whethere he as feeling bad for his past faults and the lyrics of the song made him realise he was nothing like the man in the morror, that MJ preaches people should be.
Following his performance, a host of stars took to twitter to congratulate him.
Kim Kardashian wrote: “Wow @ChrisBrown did such an amazing MJ tribute.
While singer Sean Kingston wrote: “WOW Chris Brown Congrats Bro, U KILLED THAT GREAT JOB MY brother.
Many feel that he wasn’t just crying because it hit him hard that Michael was really gone. But because he was crying for REDEMPTION and the lyrics of the song hit too close to home!!!!
I personally feel that Chris really did shut down the BET Awards with this performance. As soon as I watched it, I was not interested in seeing any other performance to be honest, this was the best part of it, i think many stars were very happy for Chris that he had this opportunity to make a personal tribute to Michael Jackson especially after not being allowed to do so last year.
This is the type of tribute that we have all been waiting for. As to whether Chris can get his life and career back after this performance, one can only hope. After the incident with Rihanna, he deserves a second chance because he paid his dues. And after last night’s performance where he showed his TRUE self and wore his heart on his sleeve, i think he should be given the chance to rebuild his career because his talent is sensational. Much luck to him in the future!
Was it all about MJ? Probably not. He was clearly dealing with his own demons/issues, but I’m sure a large part of it was. However, irrespective of any of that it seems that this guy finally allowed us to see his true self. Not his cocky, arrogant, scripted self – but his true, raw self. THIS should have been Breezy’s comeback. Not an album (however solid), not a tour, not interviews – THIS should have been it.
This is one of those performances that will go down in history. Something we’ll all be coming back to.
Welcome back Chris Brown.
R&B star Chris Brown announced yesterday that he had to cancel his European ‘Fan Appreciation’ tour because he was denied entry. I speculated yesterday that there could be another reason for the cancellation (possible poor ticket sales) but this is not the case, it appears the British Home Office has come forward to explain why they denied him a visa to enter the country. According to the Home Office, he was refused permission on the grounds of being guilty of a serious criminal offence.
In a statement, the Home Office implied that his assault conviction towards ex-girlfriend Rihanna was the main reasoning behind their denial. They said: “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits”.
The singer was due to play three UK concerts, starting in Glasgow on Wednesday night, as well different dates in London and Manchester. A concert in the Irish Republic at Cork was also cancelled. His Publicist has also released an official statement about the cancelled tour: “Due to issues surrounding his work visa, the Ireland and United Kingdom leg of Chris Brown’s Fan Appreciation Tour has been postponed. Chris looks forward to performing for his fans abroad in the near future and thanks them for their continued support”.
Public safety? That some excuse? A pretty lame excuse too. The guy has done his community service, taken up anger management classes, and contributed a lot towards charity this year. Whilst terrorists are allowed to live in the country, their main concern is to imply that someone who is trying to rebuild his life and perform to his fans across the universe is a danger to the British public? Somehow i really dont think so. Chris Brown after all the hard work hes done to try and rebuild his image , im sure would never jeopardise that. I hope the concerts do get rearranged so Chris can perfom to his UK FANS! :)
Things just go from bad to worse for R&B star Chris Brown. I posted earlier about him and his new girlfriend and how things could be looking up for the once very popular R&B superstar. But but things have taken a turn for the worse., he just doesnt seem to be getting the luck these days.
He just tweeted the following, earlier (which has since been deleted): “SORRY to all the fans in europe!!! My tour is cancelled. I’m pretty sure ya’ll know. My entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!”
Something about this explanation sounds kind of fishy and very confusing , if this was the case surely he would have tried to sort out issues like this before booking the gigs for the tour. After all, not every European country denied his entry. It’s looking more likely that his tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Either way, I kind of feel bad for Breezy if this truly the case. It’s bad enough that he has been demoted to ‘mixtape artist’ status and now he can’t even tour Europe because of possible lack of interest. Such a massive shame because the guy has massive massive natural talent. I hope the tour does still go ahead cos there are people in Europe who still support Chris Brown. Especially since the tour has been earning some good reviews thus far it would be a huge disappointment for his fans in Europe to miss out on seeing him!
Another video from Chris Brown called ‘No Bullshit’ off of the ‘Fan Of A Fan mixtape has dropped this week.
It’s the second video to have been released from the mixtape!
It certainly seems as if Chris Brown is doing all he possibly can to regain the public’s support?
Do you think he will get back to the top ? Your thoughts?
Chris Brown premieres his ‘Deuces’ music video…
R&B star Chris Brown hasnt really done himself any favours with all these low quality videos and mixtapes. However, this latest one for ‘Deuces’ is by far his best one as it features some very good video production. The polished clip sees the 21-year-old showing off more of his flexibility with some flips and more.
The track features his mixtape collaborator Tyga and Kevin McCall. Although his mixtape leaves much to be desired, the video was well shot despite its lack of concept. The cut is also taken from his new mixtape, ‘Fan of a Fan’.
Breezy has been on fire lately with his current ‘Fan Appreciation’ tour. Clearly, he’s doing everything he can to win back his lost popularity. With such determination and fight, does this make you anticipated to hear a new studio album from him in the future?
Say what you want about Chris Brown, he’s had his fair share of troubles this past year, but no one can deny the talent he possesses. Whether its dancing or singing , Chris sure does possess a huge amount of natural talent.
He has recently started his Fan Appreciation Tour , which has kicked off in the last few days in BRAZIL.
I would go as far as to say R&B star Chris Brown is OFFICIALLY the hottest dancer in the game. Nobody is touching his stage swag right now. FACT. You can disagree if you want, but whether he acts an ass at times is irrelevant, you really cannot deny his dance skills whenever he throws down on stage.
Breezy was seriously going all out to impress with some very intricate and complex choreography whilst performing his hit single ‘I Can Transform Ya’. If this is a preview as to what’s to come with the rest of his Inernational tour, fans are definetely in for a treat!
Make sure you check out the video to see what im talking about?
DO YOU AGREE? What do you think?
