20-year-old Talay Riley releases his brand new single Sergeant Smash towards the end of January. By the looks of the acoustic vid filmed, the track is a bit of a smash!
Talay is becoming a familiar name in the music industry after building his profile through tours with the likes of N Dubz , Jessie J and his increasing fan base will be very happy with this latest release. All that remains for Talay is for him to rightfully secure his place in the charts. His talent deserves that!
Also releasing his single is the super talented Loick Essien who is set to release his second single. His first effort Love Drunk was an absolute tune which to this day I still love, unfortunately his label didn’t really deliver on the promotion to give the single any hope of a success. This second single entitled ‘Stuttering‘ featuring N-Dubz very own Dappy is a decent urban tune but I think I would have preferred Loick to carry on with his own material because he’s an incredible songwriter.
Loick recorded the track after he met a girl in the USA who he really liked but never got to properly talk to. He said: “This is a song about when you like someone so much the words don’t come out right and you end up stuttering. It’s something that happens to everyone and I think people can really relate to this on a personal level.”
I hope that his label can get the promo right on this attempt and give Loick a big push in the bid for some chart recognition.
You can check out the track below : The video should be available for viewing very soon! The song is due for release January 30th which could lead to a little battle between Talay and Loick!
20-year-old urban pop artist Talay Riley will release his debut single ‘Humanoid’ on 4th October through Jive Records. The video has just been premiered exclusively by SBTV! You can check the video out below!
A year ago, Talay had his first UK #1 single with Chipmunk’s ‘Oopsy Daisy’, a song he wrote, following it with a UK Top 10 as a featured artist and co-writer on Chipmunk’s ‘Look For Me’. Impressive start to his music career.
After being signed up by a record company following that success Talay is finally ready to unleash his Debut single ‘Humanoid’onto us. Its a perfect taster of what is to come from Talay Riley. It is a dark and edgy urban pop track that merges robotic beats, cutting edge production and a killer chorus to create a song that is instant and exciting. With a surprisingly big American sound for such a young UK artist, it is already causing a buzz online from LA to the UK.
Having already toured with N-Dubz earlier this year along with performances at Wireless festival, on a line-up with the likes of Jay-Z and Chase & Status, and the Underage Festival, Talay has started out on his own headline dates across the UK. His debut album is expected to be released in early 2011 and he is currently working in the studio in the UK and LA with a host of producers including Inflo 1st (The Saturdays, One Republic), Harmony aka H-Money (a member of Darkchild Productions in LA responsible for Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ amongst others) and Rodney Jerkins. Expect to hear the name “Talay Riley” lots more for sure on this website! Humanoid’ is an exciting taster of whats to come from this UK artist!! Definitely an exciting time for UK R&B with the likes of Talay Riley , Loick Essien & Labrinth stepping into the spotlight!!!!

Check out the brand new mixtape from Chipmunk & Wretch 32 … Chip is currently killing it , and is featuring at all the major festivals this summer, after that he will be taking a break before returning next year with his second album which hes been talking up a lot.
Check out what you think of the mixtape by downloading below. My personal favourite is Last One Standing which features Loick Essien on the hook.
I have been very impressed by this Young Talent.. 21 year old Bluey Robinson has been surrounded by music all his life. Born in 1988, he grew up on The Jackson 5, Bob Marley, Phil Collins, UB40 and The Drifters. These foundations set his musical taste and later, influenced his style today.
When you think of it really theres not many UK R&B Male Singers out there at the moment , theres a few , but i really get the feel that Bluey could take control along with some other fine UK Talents including Loick Essien , Talay Riley etc!!!
Starting in late November 2008, Bluey started to captivate an audience through a guerrilla online campaign which saw him take his music and unique performance style to the London, Paris and New York train networks, where he’d sing to commuters, jam with buskers capturing hearts and minds! The resulting home edited video footage is must see content and the campaign has culminated in his Channel ‘Bluey Robinson TV’ attracting over 500,000 views and sparking a great reaction.
Over the summer of ’09 Bluey took his songs on the road and played sold out shows to a welcoming audience at Notting Hill’s ‘Yoyo’s’ and the Hoxton Bar And Grill’s ‘Gold Dust’.
‘I Know’, Bluey’s first release, arrived in late September off the back of a strong radio plot, which saw extensive airplay across national radio with Ronnie Herel in particular championing the rising star.
Since then, Bluey has gone from strength to strength, performing a storming set at the ‘1Xtra after Party’ following Dizzie Rascal’s performance at the BBC Electric Proms on Wed 21st Oct in Camden’s Roundhouse.
A chance meeting with Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse writer Gil Cang saw the two collaborate on ‘Gotta Be A Way’, a soul stomp of the highest order. A track which will be performed when Bluey hits the O2 Wireless festival later this year on a bill which includes Jay-Z and Pink.
In late November ’09, almost a year to the day of uploading his first youtube video, Bluey put pen to paper to a well deserved record deal with entertainment giant Sony Music.
He has recently produced a few acoustic performances for the No.1 Youth Broadcaster http://sbtv.co.uk/

Loick Essien … Remember that name, Your going to be hearing a lot more about him.
The premiere of Loick Essien’s debut single was last night on Radio 1 Extra… AND…. *Drum Roll please*
The Track did not disappoint.
If you’re unfamiliar with him then just refer to popular hits like “Beast” by Chipmunk , & “When The Sky Falls” by Bashy as he features prominently on the hooks of these songs.Loick has mainly been known as the hook man. But now he’s stepping out of the shadow and launching his own solo career. We’ve been eager to get a listen of some of his own music mainly due to the fact he possesses an amazing vocal ability.
Backed by production by Syco’s new signing, super producer Labrinth, they’ve created the eclectic “Love Drunk”.The track has earned rave reviews so far and is available for download on August 30th. His debut album should be out also come the end of the year. This is a very impressive debut single, with quality vocals from Loick.Could this be another new star breaking into the mainstream? We certainly wouldn’t bet against it!

Ive been waiting this for a while and its finally nearly ready to be unleashed on us. Lately, his vocals have appeared alongside Chipmunk’s on ‘Beast’ and most recently provided the choral hook for Bashy’s ‘When The Sky Falls’, the theme for gritty UK flick ‘Shank’. Loick’s debut album is due for release in 2010.
This Guy has an amazing voice… Rest assured you will be hearing big things about this guy. Make sure you follow him on Twitter at http://twitter.com/LoickEssien for the latest news about him.
