After the wild success of “All Time Low” and “Heart Vacancy” on the British charts, The Wanted are set to continue their streak with the release of “Lose My Mind”. The song is the third single off their self titled debut album and will officially be released on December 26th (UK). Check out the video premiere below! Directed by Nigel Dick at Coney Island, the video has the fun factor appeal to it , speaking of factor , The Wanted also recently performed this track exclusively on the X Factor which goes to show how far the boys have come in their debut year. Very impressive.
The formula is clearly working for this boy band!
Lose My Mind looks to be another infectious big hit! Good Luck to the boys!
Ed Drewett is set to one of this year’s biggest break-through stars without a doubt! October 31st will see the release of his very first single titled Champagne Lemonade. If you haven’t heard it yet then what are hell are you waiting for? Go listen and Enjoy! You can expect to see Drewett’s debut album released March next year. I particularly love how he has established himself as a contender for chart credentials without having even yet released his first single. That’s star quality right there. Very impressive from the 22-year-old Essex singer-songwriter. As the introducing post described i first heard Ed Drewett’s smashing voice after he featured on Professor Green’s #3 hit ‘I Need You Tonight’! Not to mention he penned a number one hit in the form of “All Time Low” by this year’s breakout boy band “The Wanted”!
With the release date ‘CHAMPAGNE LEMONADE’ looming Ed has premiered the video for the track. If you’ve listened to the track then you’ll know Champagne Lemonade is a perfectly produced pop tune, mixing a pretty big catchy hook with lyrics that are smart and witty which emphasise his very cheeky persona. The bridge is an amazing part where the beat drops out then explodes back into the chorus, and that does it for me, I’ve got so much confidence in this track , I think I think it has the potential to break into the mainstream market and people are gonna warm to Ed well just because he’s a pretty likeable chap!
Oh yeah the video , it’s a decent effort from Ed, nothing too extravagant for his debut singlee, It sees the young lad smashing golf balls on a driving range in the company of a bevvy of curvy ladies!!
Ed’s first single has been produced by Tim Powell who has overseen his first production since leaving the hitmaker stable Xenomania. He’s worked with some big producers for the album which is exciting. Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen), Cutfather (Kylie Minogue, Christian Aguilera), Guy Chambers (Robbie) and Fraser T. Smith (Cheryl Cole, JLS) have all contributed so far!
He will also be joining Professor Green as main support on his October UK tour which culminates with a London date at Koko on October 19th.
The dates for the tour are below!
Fri 8 Cambridge Junction
Sat 9 Sheffield Leadmill
Sun 10 Birmingham O2 Academy2
Tue 12 Glasgow O2 ABC
Wed 13 Newcastle Digital
Thu 14 Manchester Club Academy
Sat 16 Oxford O2 Academy2
Sun 17 Cardiff Millennium Music Hall
Mon 18 Brighton Concorde 2
Tue 19 London Koko
The Wanted fever seems to have gripped the teenage nation this last past couple of months. It shows no real sign of slowing down either. Rather fitting then after their debut single reached number one, The Wanted are striking while the iron is hot and unleashing their second single/video onto the world!
The song is called “Heart Vacancy” and is a little different from the big bold production which All Time Low possessed! Right then so what about the song – it’s the typical boy band ballad clearly aimed straight at their legion of teenage fans hearts. The track is about a girl that’s been hurt in the past, who you try to convince to trust you and hope she realises it will be different with you. Remains to be seen whether the boys can follow-up the number one smash with this effort.
The video was filmed in Croatia with directors Max and Dania, the team behind this summer’s smash StreetDance 3D. The video fits really well with the track!
Check it out below!
Nice effort from the chaps from The Wanted.
You may have heard Ed Drewett on a very popular track this year. Yes he featured on Professor Green’s first single “I Need You Tonight”. Ed has this year signed to Virgin/EMI records and has been busy with the production and recording of his debut album! His debut single has recently leaked on You Tube! 1) Its called Champagne Lemonade. 2) I Love it! 3) Its pure pop excellence! Exciting times for the 22 year old from Essex! The album i’ve heard is set for a release early 2011 and features some very very exciting songwriters! He’s bagged the likes of Wayne Hector , Fraser T Smith just to name a few, not a bad lineup of producers/writers!
ALSO Ed has been partly responsible for a number one single this year! He co wrote “The Wanted””s debut single “All Time Low” which is particularly impressive!
All because he buys you champagne, i buy you lemonade, makes him something of a Casanova” is just one example of Ed’s unique lyrical style which is expected to be shown across his whole debut album. A believer in classic songwriting and intelligent pop music, Ed’s style is influenced by some of the greats such as Elton John, Sting, Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake and the album style is a fusion of all these influences with his own cheeky chappy cherry on top. With a voice that cuts through the air with the utmost conviction and honesty, its easy to relate and revel in every single word and melody sung by Mr. Drewett, Ed is a true artist and is sure to be around for a long time in the industry!
If you’re not familiar then just get familiar he’s a gem!
The track is expected to be released October 25th. The video is also gonna be shot very soon! Look out for more news on the blog about Ed very soon! Watch this space!!!
‘Green Light’ is the London-based grime collective’s second track to reach the top of the UK charts, after their previous release ‘Good Times’ achieved the same feat back in April.
‘Love The Way You Lie’, meanwhile, remains at two for a second consecutive week, despite initially outselling Roll Deep in the midweek charts.
Last week’s number one, ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ by Flo Rida and David Guetta, slides two spots to three, with another former chart-topper, Ne-Yo’s ‘Beautiful Monster’, right behind them at five.
The Saturdays, who were once on course to top the charts with ‘Missing You’, settle into the lower half of the top 10 this week after falling four places from three to seven.
Elsewhere in the chart, Chase & Status rack up the second-highest new entry of the week with ‘Let You Go’ landing at 11, while Inna’s ‘Amazing’ is another high-charting new arrival at 14.
The top 10 in full:
1. (-) Roll Deep: ‘Green Light’
2. (2) Eminem & Rihanna: ‘Love The Way You Lie’
3. (1) Flo Rida ft. David Guetta: ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’

Preeya Kalidas‘s brand new single Shimmy will be released on Saturday , Preeya has been shimmying up and down the country raising awareness for her brand new track , It remains to be seen whether the public will get behind the track enough for it to chart well.Preeya is already quite well known and will probably have a few fans from her days in EastEnders so she could have a bit of support behind her for this track!! Twitter : http://twitter.com/PREEYAKALIDAS – “Shimmy!“
The Wanted – All Time Low could well be the track that performs the best this week. You’ve heard of The Wanted, right? No? Well, as long as you’re over 18 and a bit of a Twitterphobe, we’ll forgive you. James, Max, Nathan, Siva and Tom have been doing the promo rounds for a few months now gathering as much support as possible for their DEBUT single. We will see whether The WANTED can serve up the goods and prove to the masses that boy-bands are here to stay and in the process we’ll see if their debut single manages to perform well in the charts. Fugative – Bad Girl – The new single by young star Fugative ticks all the boxes ; Fugative may have just turned 16 but that hasn’t slowed down his determination to crack the UK charts. First single Supafly missed out on the top 40 and landed at number 48 whereas second single Crush fared better entering at 26. Will it be third time luck as Fugative prepares to unleash his summer single Bad Girl? Im not quite sure why he hasn’t enjoyed a Top 10 smash yet but fingers crossed Bad Girl will do that for him. He should easily appeal to teenage girls with both his looks and music so surely it’s only a matter of time? Twitter : http://twitter.com/Fugative – “Bad Girl”
Travie McCoy feat Bruno Mars – Billonaire – Bruno Mars contributes a sung hook just as instantly catchy as his work on the #1 pop smash “Nothin’ On You” by B.o.B. This will be one of the definitive pop hits of the summer of 2010. It is also an impressive lead-in for Travie McCoy’s debut solo album Lazarus. Bruno Mars’ sung hook to kick off the song is definitely the highlight but Travie McCoy’s witty and charming raps add a lot to his song. The lilting, summery mood just makes me wants to go out and head straight to the beach!!! Not a bad bet for the number one spot come the end of the week!!! Twitter : http://twitter.com/TravieMcCoy – “Billonaire”
Drake – Find Your Love – It’s great Kanye West production with a clever vocal editing and an up-beat tempo. I love the track and it has gathered a lot of support especially across the pond. Can Drizzy Drake do it again but in the UK this time? I wouldnt bet against it!!! Twitter http://twitter.com/drakkardnoir – “Find Your Love”
Plan B – Praying! It’s very much a case of where did it all go so right for London singer / rapper Plan B in 2010. Everythings gone right , firstly with single ‘She Said’ lurking at every corner for months, and album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’ topped the UK Album chart going platinum in the process. His latest offering is a song called “Praying” , will he be praying for more chart success this time around? We will soon seee!!! Twitter – http://twitter.com/4PlanB – “Praying”
I haven’t actually done a revieww for this track by “The Wanted” on the blog so with the single out in a matter of days now is probably a better time than any.
These new kids on the block are well on their way to boy band stardom with this new climactic offering ‘All Time Low’. The band are a five-piece born and bred here in the UK and are keen on challenging the pop title.
This, their first single has all the components that make up a pop classic. A beat that builds (perhaps a little too slowly) into a thumping chorus that stays in your head for a pretty long while afterwards. Atmospheric strings open the number which later evolves into a deep bass line which wouldn’t be out of place in a club. The boys’ vocals feature as the main point of focus and the synthesised backing bring it right up to the minute.
The band also have secured quite a lot of fans amonst the teenage generation which is expected. Remains to be seen whether they can achieve chart success with this first single. But hey i think they’ve got plenty of potential and should do very well indeed!!!!
New boy band The Wanted (Tom, Max, Nathan, Jay and Siva) release their debut single All Time Low later this month (July 25th to be exact). This week the five-piece performed the song live on GMTV – check out their appearance on the show in this video.

What do you think of this new boyband? , ive heard good things about them , Could they be the success story in the second half of 2010?
Girls will obviously love them thats for sure!!!!!
The “lad-band” pride themselves on being a down to earth fivesome and it’s abundantly clear they’re not just band mates on the verge of pop greatness, they’re also great mates.
“We’re just five ordinary guys who like having a laugh,” says 17 year old Nathan, the youngest in the band. “We’re all very different personalities and come from all over the UK, but somehow it works.”
For the past few months The Wanted have been living together in a bachelor’s pad in South London, complete with a football table, a dart board on the door, fridge full of beer and a freezer full of pizzas.
Pizza and beer aside, the band have been busy honing their edgy pop sound and have spent the past year working with some of the biggest names in pop, a list of producers who have previously worked with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Pixie Lott, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Robbie Williams.
They have been added to the bill for the Summetime Ball Wembley on June 6th. They’ve got Brian Friedman, the X Factor choreographer on board, so it will be interesting to see how this boyband perform. Look out for more this year from this boyband!!!!!!!
