Following on from his debut number 1 single, Olly Murs releases “Thinking of You” as his follow up single….

Olly Murs premiered his new single “Thinking of Me” this week which set to be his second single. Especially after the huge success of his debut single it will be very interesting to see how the follow-up track will fare chartwise.  I’m not a big fan of this track at the moment , is it a grower…? It could very well be. Only time will tell! What i will say though is that the style of the song is very similar to his 1st single , It’s just like a continuation, well if it aint broke well don’t fix it right….? I’m interested in hearing his album to see what else he has up his sleeve. Also the lyrics are a bit cringeworthy!

Olly co-wrote the single with Steve Robson (who he also worked with on Please Don’t Let Me Go), as well as JLS and Westlife collaborator Wayne Hector.

I think Olly could potentially have a number one with this track , as theres not really a huge amount of competition the same week this track gets its release. Obviously when you add in the power of X Factor then there’s lots of potential for the song.

The track is released 21’st November! The video has already been shot and should be released sometime in the next week I should imagine.

You can take a listen to the track below….!

The Boys of JLS have also unveiled their new ARTWORK! Titled "Outta This World" the band are expected to battle with Take That in the album charts. Tasty battle ey?

New Music Video : JLS (Children in Need Single) Love You More…

Chart topping boy band JLS have officially unveiled their next single from their forthcoming album. The soppy love ballad Love You More has announced as the official Children in Need Single for this year.

“Love You More” is a welcome switch up in styles after the previous upbeat pop numbers of Beat Again , Everybody in Love , One Shot & The Club Is Alive.

Whats notable about the track is that it’s the boys first self-written track which is good news.

It’s a huge honour for us to be a part of such a fantastic charity,’ Marvin Humes told BBC’s Newsround.Proceeds from the song will help change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children and young people here in the UK. The 2010 Children In Need appeal will be held on Friday November 19th.

Ok so what about the video..? The boys have opted for a black and white feel to the video which is a nice touch as it gives a very vintage feel to the video, its nicely shot and its pretty easy to see why this song was chosen in conjunction with it being the official Children in Need song choice. All the lyrics just kind of relate perfectly to the cause.

I think this although being your average boyband love ballad is a good choice from the JLS boys and is a good choice and will no doubt see them pick up yet another number one! You can check out the cover art for the brand new single below..

You can watch the video below..

The band’s new album called Outta This World is out on November 22 – the same week as the newly reunited Take That release their new LP which will be a tasty encounter in the charts no doubt!

JB said: ‘Obviously we’re very proud of this album. Take That are definitely some of our idols and we’re very proud to be associated with them.’

JLS will be heading off on their first arena tour around the UK at the end of November.

New Video Alert : Its Syco’s latest recruit Labrinth with “Let The Sun Shine”!

HE’S helped thrust other artists into the spotlight this year including the likes of Tinie Tempah  – and now it’s finally LABRINTH’s turn. Let The Sunshine is a very upbeat feel good track and is the debut release from SIMON COWELL‘s latest signing.

Having already collaborated with the likes of  TINIE TEMPAH, JLS and PRO GREEN , PIXIE LOTT and lots more this year, Lab has stepped out from behind-the-scenes to lap up life in front of the camera. And he certainly seems to be enjoying taking the centre stage!

And Lab, real name Timothy McKenzie, clearly had a fun day out shooting his vid with some bikini-clad babes. Sadly for him, they didn’t get a chance to dance in the rain with him though.

Iconic photographer RANKIN – who has snapped KATE MOSS, BRITNEY SPEARS and THE ROLLING STONES – is the mastermind behind the video. The video was filmed stateside.

I think this track could do big things for Labrinth. Number one anyone? I think so! Let The Sunshine is released September 26.

Music News : Labrinth Signs To Simon Cowell’s Record Company..

Producer and singer Labrinth today announced he has signed a recording deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label. In addition, the 21 year-old from Hackney also inked a label deal under the guise of Odd Child/ Syco, through which he and his manager, Marc Williams, will discover and nurture new talent.

Lab is the first artist of his kind to sign to Syco, which houses the likes of Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Il Divo and Westlife. It is also the first time in 6 years Syco have signed an artist unrelated to their TV platforms. This marks an exciting time not only for the super-talented superstar-in-waiting, but also for the UK urban scene as a whole.

“This is a crucial moment in my career, I’ve always been an ambitious and driven person and Simon has given me a bigger playing field,” said Labrinth of the signing. “I’m gonna show Uncle Sy a whole new world!”

It’s already been an incredible year for Lab, who celebrated a No.1 single with Tinie Tempah’s Pass Out back in March, while this week the pair hit No.2 with Frisky. Both tracks, produced by Lab, also feature his vocals.

Labrinth’s first single will be the defiantly original, feel-good, Let The Sunshine, due to be released Summer 2010. An album will follow, and meanwhile Labrinth will also be concentrating on finding and nurturing new talent for his Odd Child/ Syco imprint.

A big congrats to Lab and his management team for such an incredible deal. We look forward to hearing the results of the signing over the summer. At the moment the talented producer is working on tracks for JLS and Pixie Lott and has future projects in the works with Jay-Z, Rihanna and Cheryl Cole. Also watch for one of his tracks on Professor Green’s forthcoming album, Alive Till I’m Dead.

Here’s Lab and Tinie performing Frisky on BBC 1’s Live Lounge earlier this week.

Rihanna & JLS perform at London’s ‘Summertime Ball’…

Over the weekend, both Rihanna and JLS performed at Capital FM’s annual Summertime Ball in London. Here is Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’ performance below!!

Music Video : JLS premiere new music video for ‘The Club is Alive’…

Chart topping boyband JLS have offically premiered their new music video for ‘The Club is Alive’ today. It looked like they had lots and lots of fun shooting the Frank Borin-directed clip, Well wouldnt you really if you were in a bar surrounded by all those beautiful woman? They just seem like the type of guys who know how to have a laugh and just be themselves which is a credit to to them. Check it out below:

The song is not the best from them, im hoping for more from their second album but the video itself had some good post production. And most importantly it looks as if they’ve got rid of the cheesy tag image which they have had up to now in their previous videos. The video was shot in sunny Los Angeles where they have been recording their new album which is set to be released at the end of the year.

Verdict : Their best video to date,  still not too sure about the song!

Music News : Alicia Keys, Usher & JLS to perform on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’…

Simon Cowell is really pulling out all the stops for the Britain’s Got Talent live semi final shows this week isnt he??. After the success of attracting international stars to last seasons X Factor live shows it has been announced that International R&B stars Usher and Alicia Keys will perform this week. Last years winners Diversity kicked it off on the first live show with a truly amazing routine which certainly impressed the crowds and viewers.

Meanwhile, Usher, who had a recent UK no 1 with ‘OMG’ is also booked to appear. Alicia who had her first UK no 1 album recently, will appear within the week to perform ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’. On Friday, X Factor runners up JLS will perform their new song ‘The Club Is Alive’.

The live Britain’s Got Talent finals kicked off Monday night at 7:30pm with the first live semi-final. It was a very impressive start with singers like Olivia Archbold and Josh Barry flying the flag for the singing category. Olivia narrowly missed out on the final after acts Tobias Mead and Spellbound(who were both amazing by the way) were put through ahead of her.  Bring on the rest of the  live semi finals i say! :)

Theres also rumours that Miley Cyrus will be performing on the live Semi Final shows this week.

Behind the Scenes: JLS shoot music video for ‘The Club Is Alive’…

Determined to keep the buzz going which is a very smart move, the chart topping boyband have just posted a behind the scenes clip on their official Youtube channel. Aston Merrygold, Ortise Williams, Marvin Humes and Jonathan ‘JB’ Gill dance along to their own song and have some fun with the “beautiful ladies”. JLS actually went one step further for this video and hired Justin Timberlake’s very own choreographer Marty Kedulka for the music video shoot, this shows how far JLS have come that they can actually hire someone of that standard to work on their music videos.

The clip was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Frank Borin, who also directed the video for Alexandra Burke’s ‘Broken Heels’. The bar used in the set is the same which was used for Usher’s video for the amazing hit ‘Love In This Club’ which again shows how far the X Factor Runners up from the UK have come.Check out the behind the scenes footage below:

The video looks quite decent , and the song is actually growing on me a little bit after originally not really keen. Apparentely the video is set to premiere this coming Monday. So we should see the finished video hopefully sometime soon , in the next week or so!!!

In other music news, JLS have announced the details of their second book!

Their second book is set to be released this September. ‘In Just Between Us: Our Private Diary’ is the follow up to their bestselling first book ‘Our Story So Far’. The book focuses on behind the scenes moments and gives readers a very personal insight into their huge success story in the last year.

Let’s see. Book, album and tour all in the last part of the year – Coincidence? , they certainly trying to cash in on the recent success and their contined popularity,  They know they’ve now established a huge fanbase and seem pretty confident that their fans will buy anything they put out. You cant blame them one single bit!
.
JLS certainly are at the top and the best way to secure your future is when you are at the top. Cant Fault it! Im hoping for some better tracks on the album though! :) x
